Installation
Installing Wall 4
On wall 4 I decided I wanted to paint a mural and hang a painting and a few sculptures on it.
Taping
With the help of my Mom and my friend Grace, we taped the shapes that I wanted to paint.
Taping Shapes
I wanted to make sure the lines were as straight as I could get them.
Finished Tape
Once I got the shapes taped out it was time ot paint.
Painting
I advised Grace and my Mom what colors I wanted each shape and they helped me paint them while I worked on hanging the rest of my exhibit.
Painting
I chose blue, green and pruple paint that went with the rest of my exhibit.
Painting
Very grateful for Grace and my Moms help installing my exhibit. It took me around 14 hours to install the whole exhibit and without their help it would have taken me way longer.
Painting
I also love that they were able to put their small mark on my exhibit and it gave them a new understanding on how long it takes me to make everything.
Watching Paint Dry
Once the paint dryed I took off the tape. Where the shapes overlapped the tape left wite lines so I had to tape out those sections and paint over the white.
Installing Sculptures
I then started installing the sculptures to the wall. Getting them to stay was a challange but I ended up nailing small nails into the wall and pusing the sculptures on to them.
Hanging Painting
I hung my painting and placed a sculpture on top of it.
Colored Tape
I then experimented with colored vinyl tape.
Vinyl Tape
I wasn't sure if the vinyl tape would look good or not because I didn't want it to look too much like tape.
Vinyl Tape
I made the lines as straight as I could so that they almost looked as if they were painted on. I ended up loving the result and made designs all over the mural.
